There are dozens of assessments that we could use to help us understand where you are today, which is essential for determining the best path to get you where you want to be. However, some are accurate and some are not. We want to use the best assessments possible to give you the best information possible. This is why we are continually studying assessments as well as coaching, training, and consulting methods. Here are some of the assessments we use today:
One-on-One Conversations: This may be our best way to assess a leader, their team, or their whole business. Simple, well structured, conversations can help an experienced coach understand where you and your company are today and where you want to be in five, ten, or twenty years.
360 Degree Leadership Assessments: We use the John Maxwell Team’s Leadership Assessment today. John is the top speaker, trainer, and author in Leadership today and Lee Huffman is a Founding Member of the John Maxwell Team which is made up of over 10,000 coaches around the world. This online assessment gives a Leadership Coach a foundation for developing you as a solid leader.
D.I.S.C. Personality Profiles: Your performance in the workplace is influenced significantly by your personality. If we understand our personality we can take actions to leverage our strengths and mitigate our weaknesses. In addition, if we understand ourselves and can read the personalities of others, we can adjust our communication and working styles towards the people we want to lead and influence.
LSDI, Learning Systems Diagnostic Instruments: This tool helps us understand your learning style so that we can develop activities that will help you learn faster and more effectively. Are you Auditory, Visual, or Kinesthetic? These terms describe how information is transferred from short-term memory to long-term memory in your brain. This transfer is the essence of learning. If we know how you learn best, we can help you move as fast as possible.
Strength Finders: While we believe in working on both the strengths and the weaknesses in the people we help develop, we have found that the Strength Finders 2.0 model is very helpful in Business Coaching and Executive Coaching.
Business Planning Assessment: We use this assessment, that we developed ourselves, to determine the areas where we can best help business owners grow their business. It looks at several areas of the business, including: Leadership, Recruiting, People Development and Management, Inbound Marketing, Outbound Marketing, Sales, Innovation, Product Development, Production, Delivery, Customer Service and Satisfaction, Project Management and more. This assessment may be used multiple times during a Business Coaching engagement to see where we are in the process, measure our progress, and review (and potentially adjust) where we are going.
Others: Each coach has their own tried and true assessments that they may ask you to participate in as you engage with them.
Our Own Learning and Experience: We are continually learning and as we find better tools to help our customers we will bring them to our team and the leaders that we serve. As a matter of fact, we all have coaches ourselves. Why? Because everyone needs a coach.
